What you’ll do:
As the Quality & AI Innovation Lead at Habuild, you will lead the dual charter of AI-driven engineering excellence and Quality Assurance leadership for a 30+ member tech team. Your role will be pivotal in shaping how humans and AI collaborate to build impactful, user-centric products that delight millions of users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the AI + QA Charter: Drive the integration of AI into the SDLC, ensuring development velocity without compromising on quality.
- Engineering Leadership: Bring in software craftsmanship practices (SOLID principles, vibe coding, pair programming, TDD/BDD) to elevate overall code quality.
- Quality Ownership: Own customer delight through consistent, reliable experiences across all Habuild digital products.
- Automation First: Design and scale modern test automation frameworks (web + mobile), ensuring CI/CD pipelines are AI-augmented.
- AI Enablement: Mentor engineers on leveraging AI tools for code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and business teams to ensure seamless, high-quality releases.
- Metrics & Processes: Define KPIs for product quality, developer productivity, and AI adoption; continuously refine SDLC processes.
- Feedback & Learning: Lead user-feedback loops and internal retrospectives to consistently enhance customer experience and developer workflows.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Leadership Excellence: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive cultural change, and set high-quality engineering standards.
- Software Craftsmanship: Strong foundation in software development, SOLID principles, pair programming, vibe coding, and clean code practices.
- QA Mastery: 5+ years in QA/engineering with solid exposure to web & mobile testing; 2+ years leading QA/engineering teams.
- Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience with frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- AI in Development: Familiarity with AI-assisted coding/testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, test generation tools) and a vision for scaling them in real-world engineering.
- Agile & DevOps: Experience with agile/scrum workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and integrating automation into development lifecycles.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to balance speed with reliability.
- Communication: Strong written & verbal skills to influence stakeholders and mentor engineers.
